My name is Thearse McCalmon. I am an educator, historian, activist, mother, and grandmother. I hold 4 degrees: Human Services, Teacher Education, History, and a Master's in Teaching, Most recently, I was Director of Programs for the Underground Railroad History Project of the Capital Region and served as campaign manager for Justice Democrat Patrick Nelson for Congress.

I am ready to be the change NY needs.

  • I do not accept corporate and LLC contributions - my promise is to work for you and not the corporations.
  • NY Health Act - I believe a healthy NY makes a better NY - I would like to be the vote which covers all New Yorkers.
  • District Green Conversion - We must lead the state towards becoming an organic regenerative, and a fully resilient district by 2025.
I'm passionate about health care, the environment, education, and our small farmers.
