Thelda Williams was the Mayor of Phoenix in Arizona. Williams assumed office on May 29, 2018. Williams left office on March 21, 2019.

Williams ran for re-election to the Phoenix City Council to represent District 1 in Arizona. Williams won in the general election on August 25, 2015.

Williams was the mayor pro tem of Phoenix, Arizona. She began serving as interim mayor on May 29, 2018, after former Mayor Greg Stanton (D) resigned to run for the U.S. House, and was selected to serve as mayor pro tem in June 2018.[1][2] She was replaced by Kate Gallego on March 21, 2019. Gallego was elected to the position on March 12. Williams did not run.

Williams was a member of the Phoenix City Council in Arizona, representing District 1 from 2008 to 2021. Williams previously served on the council from 1989 to 1996. She also served as the interim mayor of Phoenix in 1994.

The city of Phoenix, Arizona, held elections for mayor and city council on August 25, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 27, 2015.[4] Four of the eight city council seats were up for election. In District 1, incumbent Thelda Williams was unopposed.[5][6]
