Biography

Theresa Coates Ellis earned a bachelor's degree from George Mason University in 2013. Her professional experience includes working in finance, healthcare management, marketing, and communication. Ellis also built, owned, and operated several small businesses. She has served as a volunteer district leader for Rotary International District 7610 (Virginia), as volunteer chair of the Biomedical Committee of the American Red Cross Loudoun Prince William Chapter, as an active member of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, as president of the Inter-Service Club Council Greater Manassas Area, as a trained master gardener of the Prince William Virginia Cooperative Extension, as a member of the Prince William Beekeepers Association, and as a sponsor of Bee City USA, Manassas.[1]

Theresa Ellis is a candidate for U. S. Congress Virginia's 10th district. She is an elected Manassas City Councilwoman, founding small business owner and volunteer leader in the 10th District for more than 30 years.

She paid her own way through college, finishing with a degree in Business Communication from George Mason University and was awarded Alumna of the Year in 2019.

She and her husband George raised six daughters and one son and as a military mom with two children serving in the U. S. Air Force, she supports the military, Veterans, and families.

As a self-made entrepreneur, she built small businesses working with financial institutions, in healthcare management, and communication. She launched her "Shadow for a Day," mentorship program connecting students with careers.

She is a humanitarian with Rotary fighting to end human trafficking. She initiated “Flags for Heroes,” for wounded Veterans.

She is the Chair, American Red Cross leading blood donors to help the blood shortage in COVID-19.

Theresa and her husband George are members of All Saints Catholic Church. For hobbies, they are beekeepers and she is a trained Master Gardener initiating the Bee City USA designation for Manassas City and the annual Manassas Bee Festival.
