Therese Wiley Dancks is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. She was appointed to this position on October 24, 2011, and succeeded George H. Lowe, who retired on February 9, 2012. Her eight-year term will expire on February 8, 2028.[1][2]

Education

Dancks earned her undergraduate degree from LeMoyne College, graduating magna cum laude, in 1985 and her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, graduating cum laude, in 1991.[2]

Professional career

Prior to joining the court, Dancks was a founding partner at the law firm of Gale & Dancks, LLC from 1997 to 2012. She also worked at Mackenzie Hughes, LLP from 1991 to 1997.[2]
