Thom Petersen is the Minnesota Commissioner of Agriculture. He assumed office in 2019. His current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Petersen was appointed by Gov. Tim Walz (D) in January 2019.[1]
Biography
Thom Petersen earned an associate degree from Normandale Community College. He also studied at the University of Minnesota and the University of Georgia. His career experience includes working for his family and his own horse and farm business. He has served on the University of Minnesota Extension Citizens Advisory Committee, Farmers Legal Action Group, and Minnesota Ag in the Classroom.[2]
