Thomas A. Demakos was a judicial hearing officer (JHO) for the Queens County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 11th Judicial District of New York.[1][2]

Education

After he was discharged from the Marine Corps in 1946, Demakos received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Long Island University, and his master's degree in business administration from New York University. He earned his J.D. in 1957 from the New York State School of Law.[3][4]

Military service

Demakos served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 until 1946.[3][4]

Career

After completing his undergraduate degree, Demakos worked as a certified public accountant for a few years prior to going to law school and joining a law firm. He joined the district attorney's staff in 1962 and served in that office until 1979. He served as a criminal court judge from 1980 until 1982, as an acting supreme court justice from 1982 until 1985 and he joined the Queens County Supreme Court as a judge in 1986 where he served until he reached the mandatory retirement age of 76 in 1999.[3][4][5]
