Thomas A. Matthews
Thomas A. Matthews is a judge of the Alaska Third District Superior Court. His current term ends in 2029.
Matthews ran for re-election for judge of the Alaska Third District Superior Court. He won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Matthews was appointed by Gov. Bill Walker (I) on July 20, 2018, to replace John Suddock.[1]
Education
Matthews attended the College of Marin from 1976 to 1977. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1982, and a J.D. from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College in 1985.[2]
Career
At the time of his appointment, Matthews had practiced law for 32 years. He was a co-founder of Matthews & Zahare, where he worked on civil litigation from 1994 to 2018.[1]
