Thomas Allen (Nonpartisan) is a former judge of the Cook County Circuit Court Subcircuits. He was first elected to this position on November 6, 2012, and retired in June 2019.[1]

Education

Allen received his B.A. degree from Illinois Benedictine College and his J.D. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. He was admitted to the Bar in 1977.[2]

Career

Prior to becoming a judge, Allen was an Alderman in Chicago's 38th Ward since 1993. He was also a private practice attorney from 1990 to 2010. He was appointed to the Cook County Circuit Court, effective December 6, 2010, to succeed Aurelia Marie Pucinski. He was then elected to the Cook County 10th Subcircuit in 2012.[3][4][5][6][7]

Allen was election to the Cook County 10th Subcircuit without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. He was previously unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 100% of the vote.[7][8][9]
