Hamilton issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:

As a college student who recently graduated from the Middletown Public School District, I wish to give back to the district. Education is currently in a very dynamic state, with changes occurring regularly. As somebody who just went through the school system, I believe that my youth and experience as a student in the classroom, along with my current adventure in college, can be a critical tool for the largest school district in Monmouth County, NJ. I've experienced the contemporary education system and I am learning what colleges are looking for in students. I wish to lend a different perspective to the board.[8]
