Thomas Benedetto
Thomas Benedetto is a court attorney and referee for the Fifth Judicial District. He sought election to the Oswego County Court in New York in 2010. He was a 2014 judicial candidate for the Supreme Court, 11th District, in New York.[1]

Supreme Court
Benedetto ran for election to the Supreme Court, 11th District.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 1.6 percent of the vote. He competed against Ronald D. Hollie (incumbent), Anna Culley, Carmen Velasquez, John F. Casey, Leslie G. Leach, and William Decandido for four open seats.[1]
Benedetto ran as a Conservative party candidate.
Family Court
Benedetto ran for election to the Oswego County Family Court.
Primary: Benedetto was defeated in the Republican primary on September 9, 2014, receiving 44.0% of the vote. He competed against Salvatore F. Lanza and James K. Eby.[1][2]

Benedetto ran for election to the Oswego County Court in 2010 and lost. He ran for the seat vacated when James McCarthy was elevated to the New York Supreme Court, 5th District and was opposed by attorney David Hawthorne and Oswego County District Attorney Donald E. Todd.[3][4]
Challenge to nominating petition
Opponent Donald Todd challenged Benedetto's nominating petition. He said there were several errors, invalidating Benedetto's candidacy. If found to be true, Todd would not have a Republican challenger in the 2010 primary election.[5]
Education
Benedetto received his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from Syracuse University in 1987 and 1991, respectively.[6]
Career
Benedetto is a family court referee, and previously served as legal advisor to family court judges.[7]
