Thomas Clark (Eleventh Circuit)

Thomas Alonzo Clark (born 12/20/1920, deceased 9/4/2005) was a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He was nominated to these courts by President Carter.

Federal judicial career

Fifth Circuit

Judge Clark was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit by Jimmy Carter on August 28, 1979, to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629. He was confirmed by the Senate on October 31, 1979, and received his commission on November 2, 1979. Service terminated on October 1, 1981, due to assignment to the Eleventh Circuit.[1]

Eleventh Circuit

Clark joined the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit via reassignment on October 1, 1981. He assumed senior status on August 31, 1991 and served the court in that capacity until his death on September 4, 2005.[1]
