Thomas E. Walsh, II was a justice of the 9th Judicial District of New York. He was elected in the general election on November 8, 2016. He resigned in February 2019.[1]

Walsh was previously an acting justice on the court from 2009 to 2016 and was a judge for the Rockland County Surrogate's Court from 2008 to 2016.[2]

Education

Walsh received his B.A. from Fordham College in 1970 and his J.D. from St. John's University Law School in 1975.[2]

Career

Walsh began his career in 1976 as an assistant Rockland County attorney and a general private practice attorney. He continued to serve as an attorney until 2008. He also served as a Haverstraw village justice from 1983 to 2007 and a Haverstraw town justice from 2007 to 2008. From 2005 to 2007, he was an acting justice of the Spring Valley Village Court. He then became an acting judge of the Rockland County Family Court and was appointed a surrogate of the Rockland County Surrogate's Court in 2008. The following year, he became an acting supreme court justice.[2]
