- Excerpt: "Like an invasive species, government regulation is invading our lives and draining the energy and opportunities from our personal choices and economy. It is my goal to restore the prosperity once seen on the Olympic Peninsula by creating an environment that is conducive to attract the investment needed for good paying jobs. The credibility of our government can be restored with oversight that requires responsibility for the unintended consequences of the actions 194 State entities. We need to lower the cost of college, the filing of frivolous lawsuits, and restore political integrity. Thank you for your support."

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 17, 2014. Incumbent Steve Tharinger (D) and Thomas Greisamer (R) defeated Stafford Conway (L) in the primary. Tharinger defeated Greisamer in the general election.[1][3][4]
