Thomas Hagan Roberts
Thomas Hagan Roberts was an Article I federal judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. He joined the court in 1950 after being nominated by President Harry Truman. Roberts served until 1951 when he returned to Rhode Island to serve as an Associate Justice of the Superior Court of Rhode Island and later a Justice for the Rhode Island Supreme Court and as Chief Justice from 1966 to 1976. He passed away on January 7, 1976.[1]
Early life and education
Roberts earned his B.A. from Fordham University in 1927 and went on to earn a law degree four years later from Boston University.[1]
Personal life
On July 29, 1939, Roberts married Florence McCabe with whom he had two sons, Dennis and Thomas.[1]

Judicial career
District of Puerto Rico
Roberts was nominated to the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico by Harry Truman in 1950 to a seat vacated by David Chavez Jr.. Roberts served until 1951. He was succeeded to his post by Clemente Ruiz Nazario.[1]
