Thomas Hansen (Nebraska)
Thomas Hansen (b. November 8, 1946) is a former member of the Nebraska Unicameral, representing District 42 from 2006 to January 7, 2015. Hansen did not seek re-election in 2014.
Biography
Hansen earned his bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska in 1970. His professional experience includes working as a cattleman.[1]

On November 2, 2010, Hansen was re-elected to the 42nd District Seat in the Nebraska Senate. Hansen ran unopposed in the general election.[2]

On September 21, 2011, Senator Deb Fischer announced that Hansen was one of thirteen members of the Nebraska Unicameral to endorse her candidacy for the U.S. Senate.[5]

Hansen and his wife, Linda, have two children. Hansen has been involved with the Lincoln County Cattlemen, Lincoln County Feeders and Ranchers, Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation, Mid-Plains Community Foundation, Nebraska Brand Committee, Nebraska Cattlemen Association, Nebraska Cattlemen Research and Education Foundation, Nebraska Land Days, Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation and the North Platte Noon Rotary Club. Hansen has served on the Twin Platte Natural Resource District Board. Hansen's grandfather was also a member of the Nebraska State Legislature.[1]
