Thomas J. "Tom" Wright was a circuit court judge for the Third Circuit Court in Tennessee. The court presides over Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, and Hawkins counties. He was elected to this position without opposition on August 3, 2006, to replace Judge Ben K. Wexler.[1][2][3] He retired from the court effective September 2, 2021.[4]
Education
Wright received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas in 1980 and a J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee Law School in 1983.[2][3]
Career
Wright has worked as a federal judicial law clerk, a private practice lawyer, and an assistant federal community defender. He served as a judge for the Greene County General Sessions and Juvenile Courts for eight years prior to joining the Third Circuit Court in 2006.[2]
