Thomas P. Knapp was a Seventh Judicial District judge for Stearns County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position on September 25, 1995, and was elected to full terms in 1996, 2002 and 2008. He retired in 2013.

Education

Knapp received his B.A. from St. John's University in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973.

Career

Knapp began his legal career in 1973 as a private practice lawyer in the St. Cloud area and continued to work in this capacity until his judicial appointment. In 1975, he became a partner of the firm of Hughes, Thoreen & Sullivan. He was then a founding partner for Hughes, Thoreen, Mathews & Knapp from 1991 to 1994. After this, he was a founding shareholder and partner of Hughes, Thoreen & Knapp until 1995.
