Thomas L. Jones, Jr. (North Carolina)
Thomas L. Jones, Jr. is a former district court judge for the 6B Judicial District, serving Bertie, Hertford, and Northampton counties of North Carolina.[1] He was elected to the court in November 2010 for a full four-year term, which expired in 2014.[2]
Education
Jones received his undergraduate degree in English education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1975 and his J.D. from the North Carolina Central University School of Law in 1979.[2]
Career
Before he became a judge, Jones worked as an attorney in private practice for thirty years.[2]
2010 election
Jones defeated incumbent Alfred W. Kwasikpui in the general election, winning 60.28 percent of the vote. Though judges in the state do not run with party affiliation, Jones was endorsed by the North Carolina Democratic Party.[3]
