Thomas M. Goethals
Thomas M. Goethals was a judge for Division 3 of the California 4th District Court of Appeal. He assumed office in 2018. He left office on March 31, 2025.
Goethals ran for re-election for the Division 3 judge of the California 4th District Court of Appeal. He won in the retention election on November 6, 2018.
Goethals was previously a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in Orange County, California.[3] He was appointed to the court by former Governor Gray Davis on December 28, 2002, and was sworn into office on January 3, 2003.[4] Goethals retired from the court on March 31, 2025.[5]
Education
Goethals received his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University in 1974 and his J.D. degree from the Loyola Law School in 1977.[4]
