Thomas Moukawsher

Thomas Moukawsher is a judge for the Hartford District Superior Court in Connecticut.[1] He was nominated by Governor Dannel P. Malloy (D) and confirmed by the legislature on March 6, 2013. His current term expires in 2021.[2] He first served on the New London District Superior Court and then transferred to the complex litigation docket at the Hartford District Superior Court.
Education
Moukawsher earned his undergraduate degree from The Citadel and his J.D. from the University of Connecticut.[3]
Career
In the 1980s, Moukawsher served in the Office of the Governor of Connecticut and as a commercial banking lobbyist. He was a member of the Connecticut General Assembly in the 1990s and then served as special counsel to the state senate president and counsel to the Commerce Committee. He also served as counsel to the Connecticut Democratic Party and as outside counsel to Congressman John Larson. Returning to the private sector, Moukawsher was a partner at an investment banking boutique. He focused on pension law fraud in the years before joining the superior court.[4]
