Thomas R. Simpson, Jr. is a judge of the 7th Judicial Circuit for Charles County in Maryland.[1] He was elected on November 4, 2014, to a term that expires on December 31, 2029.[2]

Simpson ran for election to the 7th Judicial Circuit.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 38.6 percent of the vote. He competed against incumbent judges Jerome Richard Spencer and Hayward James West. Simpson cross-filed as a Democrat and came in third in that primary, receiving 26.4% of the vote. 
General: He faced incumbent judges Jerome Richard Spencer and Hayward James West in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 30.3 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for two open seats. [1][3][4]
