Thomas Ravenel (independent) was the South Carolina Treasurer.

Ravenel (Republican Party) ran for election for Governor of South Carolina. Ravenel will not appear on the ballot for the general election on November 3, 2026.

Ravenel earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the Citadel and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. In 1992, he founded Ravenel Development Corporation, a commercial real estate development company.[1] In 2006, he was elected state treasurer of South Carolina but resigned in 2007 after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.[2] He also starred on the reality TV show "Southern Charm" in 2014.[1]

Southern Charm

During his time on the show "Southern Charm", Ravenel had a relationship with 21-year-old Kathryn Calhoun Dennis. Following the show's first season, it was revealed that the couple had a child together. Ravenel returned to the show for its second season, which covered his 2014 bid for U.S. Senate.[3]
