Thomas Salmon
Thomas Salmon is a former Republican Vermont State Auditor. He was first elected to the position in 2006 and won re-election in 2010.[1]
Salmon did not seek re-election in 2012. He was succeeded by Doug Hoffer (D), who won election on November 6, 2012.
Biography
Salmon was born and raised in Bellows Falls, Vermont. He holds a B.S. in accounting from Boston College and was trained in auditing at Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers). He taught in the inner city of Los Angeles and became a CPA in 1993.
In 2002, Salmon returned to Vermont with his family. He has served on the Rockingham Selectboard and is a member of the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Certified Fraud Examiners Association and AICPA.[2]

Vermont Auditor (2007-2013)
Salmon was first elected state auditor in 2006. He was subsequently re-elected in 2008 and 2010, but opted not to seek a fourth term in 2012.[3]
Salmon was succeeded in January 2013 by Doug Hoffer (D), who won election on November 6, 2012.

Salmon did not seek re-election in 2012. In a letter he stated, "I have achieved the goal set when I took office in January 2007 to transform the Vermont State Auditor’s Office into a first-rate performance auditing shop. It is time for me to move on to new challenges."[5] Doug Hoffer (D) won election on November 6, 2012.

On November 2, 2010, Thomas M. Salmon won re-election to the office of Vermont Auditor of Accounts. He defeated Doug Hoffer (D) and Jerry Levy (Liberty Union) in the general election.

On November 7, 2006, Thomas M. Salmon won election to the office of Vermont Auditor of Accounts. He defeated Randy Brock (R), Martha Abbott (Progressive) and Jerry Levy (Liberty Union) in the general election.
