Thomas Shack III was the Massachusetts Comptroller of the Commonwealth. Shack assumed office on May 15, 2015. Shack left office in 2019.

Shack (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District. Shack did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on September 1, 2020.

Biography

After obtaining his law degree from New England Law, Shack joined the office of the district attorney for the Cape and Islands in 2004, where he served as senior assistant district attorney, chief of operations, and chief financial officer. In 2012, Shack left the district attorney's office to join the office of the comptroller as assistant general counsel. In 2013, Shack was promoted to director of resource management and chief financial officer. In 2014, he was named deputy comptroller and chief financial officer.[1]
