Thomas Van Hon

Thomas W. Van Hon is a judge on the Minnesota Eighth Judicial District, and he serves in Chippewa County, Minnesota. He was appointed to the court in 2012 by Governor Mark Dayton (D) to replace retired judge Paul Nelson.[1]
He was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires in 2020.[2]
Education
Van Hon received his J.D. and a master's degree from the University of Iowa College of Law and the University of Iowa Graduate College in 1984.[1]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Van Hon worked in private practice and served as the city attorney for Fairfax. At the same time, he was also an assistant public defender in Redwood and Brown counties. Before these commitments, Van Hon was an associate attorney with Rowley Law Office and assistant county attorney for Redwood County.[1]
