Thomas G. Wright-Fernandez came to New York on September 17, 2001, as a First Responder following the 9/11 terrorist attack. After working for eight months with the National Red Cross at the World Trade Center site, he was given a life-changing opportunity to continue his college education at Fordham University and to make New York City his home. Thomas gratefully accepted the opportunity, earning his undergraduate degree in economics, and later a Juris Doctor from Fordham School of Law.

After law school, he worked as a finance attorney, one of New York’s largest law firms, before leaving to open a community-based practice focusing on immigration defense and family law in Ridgewood, Queens. Over his 15-year legal career, Thomas has successfully represented countless clients in civil, immigration, and criminal proceedings. He is widely recognized by his peers for his integrity, legal knowledge, and unwavering commitment to serving others. Guided by the principle of service, Thomas has defended immigrants from deportation, fought to secure legal status for families, and worked to preserve family unity across the country.

Thomas currently serves as the Principal Law Clerk to the Honorable Justice Jessica Earle-Gargan, who presides over the Queens Treatment Courts in the Supreme Court of Queens County, Criminal Term. In this role, he works to promote alternatives to incarceration and expand access to community-based resources for those in need.
