I am an Academy School District 20 (ASD20) alumna and for more than a decade I have been a deeply committed parent, volunteer, substitute, and member of a variety of district level committees. I have a strong foundation in Colorado Springs and my sons (grades 6 & 10) are third generation ASD20 students. I have a bachelor’s degree in Finance and master’s degree in Global Management. After 18 years as an analyst in the insurance industry, I shifted my focus to working in the nonprofit sector. I'm now a Volunteer and Distribution Coordinator for Project Angel Heart. Building community has always been a passion.

Within the schools, I am serving as the District Accountability Committee parent co chair and member of the budget and accreditation subcommittees. I have been on the School Accountability Committees at 4 different schools, a 2018 district Volunteer of the Year finalist, and participated in numerous school events. Most recently, I was the sole parent on the Strategic Planning Task Force.

Through my personal and professional experiences, I am ready to I bring a voice from a variety of perspectives to ASD20.

  • ALL students deserve to thrive which includes a variety of academic opportunities and adequate mental health support
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion can be a strength for our community. Differences in learning, income, language and differently abled students are included in DEI.
  • The district must focus on retention of our dedicated teachers and all support staff. Our children need this stability in the schools.
My vision is a district that continues to be accredited with distinction by focusing on social, emotional and academic for all students. The district will continue to offer a variety of innovative programs and expand these options in all of our schools including older more established ones. Education is not a one size fits all approach and policies the board sets should acknowledge this. We are a strong community and I want to work toward building our cohesiveness again. ASD20 should be the example that other districts model after.
