Tiffany Gautier Chase (Democratic Party) is a judge for the 1st District of the Louisiana 4th Circuit Court of Appeal. She assumed office on January 1, 2018. Her current term ends on December 31, 2032.
Gautier Chase (Democratic Party) won re-election for the 1st District judge of the Louisiana 4th Circuit Court of Appeal outright in the primary on November 8, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Chase was a judge for the Orleans Parish Civil District Court (Division A) from 2007 to 2017. She was first elected to this position on May 5, 2007.[1]
Education
Chase received her B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans and her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She was admitted to the bar in 1996.[2]
Career
Prior to joining the bench in 2007, Chase was an attorney with the law firm of Martzell & Bickford.[3]

Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.

Chase filed to run in 2017 for the seat on the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal vacated by Dennis Bagneris.[4] She faced Paula Brown on March 25, 2017.
