Tiger Kennedy Cosmos is a father of two Orange Unified students, a husband, and an active volunteer in our community. For years he has been engaged in supporting students, students with special needs and helping young children succeed.

His support of special needs children comes from personal experience as someone who struggled with dyslexia but persevered with support from teachers, family, and other mentors. His drive to achieve made him the first in his family to graduate from college and went on to earn a master's degree.

With an understanding that a learning disability can be overcome with enough support, Tiger has devoted his time to volunteering with adult literacy programs and tutoring students with special needs. Throughout his professional career he has led STEM sessions for schools and worked with at-risk youth through the GRIP program.

Most recently, Tiger worked with local Orange Unified schools and national organizations such as Best Buddies that focus on bringing awareness to Autism and special needs children. He chaired the selection committee for the 2018 and 2019 AutFest Film Festival with the Autism Society of America.
  • Ensure first and foremost the safety of our students and teachers.
  • Attract the highest quality teachers to give our kids the best possible education.
  • Protect taxpayer dollars by making sure resources are spent in the classroom and our Measure S bond dollars are spent wisely.
I know first hand the challenges of succeeding in school with a learning disability, and I also know what a world of difference it can make to have teachers, mentors, and school systems capable of accommodating students with special needs. While I am fully committed to providing EVERY child the best quality education possible, I have spent much of my own private time over the years volunteering with and mentoring students with special needs, and will always have a particular passion for developing policy solutions that can help those students in particular.
