Tillamook County Road Bond Measure (November 2011)
A Tillamook County Road Bond Measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in Tillamook County.
This measure was defeated
- YES 3,785
- NO 4,234
[1]
This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $15 million in order to pay for road improvement projects in the county.[2] Officials noted that decreases in county revenue and federal funds had led to road work being put off, leading to the large project and need for this significant bond for the roads. If it had been approved, 37 miles of road would have been repaired and reconstructed under this bond. The repayment of the bond would have added $45.30 per $100,000 of assessed value per year to local property taxes.[3]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
Shall Tillamook County sell General Obligation Bonds not to exceed $15,000,000 to finance improvements to the County road system? If the bonds are approved, they will be payable from taxes on property or property ownership that are not subject to the limits of Sections 11 and 11b, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution.[4] |
