Tim A. Baker is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. He was appointed to this position in 2001. [1]
Education
Judge Baker received a B.A. degree in Journalism from Indiana University in 1984. After a brief stint with a daily newspaper, he attended Valparaiso University School of Law and received his law degree in 1989.[1]
Career
Judge Baker began his legal career in 1989 as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Larry McKinney. He joined the Indianapolis law firm Barnes & Thornburg in 1991. In 1995, he became an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana. He worked in this position until his judicial appointment in 2001.[1]
