My name is Tim Connors. I'm a 29yr old small business owner living in Avon Lake, OH. I do not come from money. I have had to fight and work for everything I have, nothing has been handed to me. I am largely self-educated, and have pursued a continuing education independently since age 14. I focus my studies on History, Philosophy, and Science. Ideologically I line up with classic American Transcendentalism, which could be seen as Conservatism with sharp Libertarian leanings. With that being said, I understand the difference between personal philosophy and governance. I am in this race to represent all of us in Washington. Democrats and Republicans alike are tired of the game playing in Congress, I'm here to change that, to end the games and get Congress back to work for the American People. I am the only candidate in the Republican Primary that is not connected to local politicians and the "good ol' boys" club that has consistently lost to Marcy Kaptur for 19 consecutive elections. I am the fresh face the Republican Party is asking for. I advocate for compromises, and constitutional solutions that will solve our problems, not just the surface of the problem but the root causes as well. I won't play politics in Washington and I will persistently fight back against those who do. Some random info about me is that I'm a nerd, I listen to Heavy Metal music, I believe in Jesus Chris, and I try to walk a path of righteousness as I navigate the treacherous road that is my life.
  • End Congressional Corruption. First step is term limits.
  • Put a stop to the Opioid Epidemic and the Human Trafficking Crisis.
  • We need to fix healthcare in a way that helps everyone. We need much better care for those with mental illness. Consumer costs are absurdly high and reforms are needed to bring costs dramaticaly down.
Healthcare

Immigration
Criminal Justice
Energy
Foreign Relations
Taxation
Federal Spending
Right to Life
2nd Amendment Protection
Constitutional Compliance

I am personally passionate about all of the above areas of policy and could speak for hours on each topic. I can say that I have lived a hard life. I understand what many of our people go through on a daily basis, and I know how to fix it so that people don't have to struggle and suffer as a result of federal government malfeasance. From my perspective, I have identified several issues that directly impact the lives of everyday Americans that the federal government is responsible for, and yet neglects its responsibilities and subjugates our people. Our Congress has become a ruling class, and that needs to end. America is not a parliamentarian democracy, our elected officials are not oligarchs, and collectivist philosophy can not override the sovereignty of the individual. We need to fight back against the prevailing forces in Washington D.C., drain the swamp, and get our government back to functioning properly. Our government is supposed to be bound to a specific set of rules (the constitution), when they break those rules with impunity, it falls on the people to hold them accountable on election day. That is what we must do now. The Democrats in the House have thrown the US Constitution out the window.
I look up to some of the great thinkers of old. Writers like Emerson, Plato, Kant and Descartes. But I look up to no one more so than Jesus Christ. The King of Kings is the greatest of role-models, the greatest leader in human history. None of us can truly live up to his example, but it is our solemn responsibility to try. We are all uplifted by the glory of God and we should do well to remember the example laid before us by Jesus himself. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Honesty, Integrity, Passion, Intelligence, and Faith. For too long we have looked at a candidates background without evaluating who they are as a person. We keep electing folks with money and connections. People from the same colleges and same jobs over and over and over. When will we learn that our problems will persist so long as we hold nepotism as a qualifier for elected officials, and not Principles? When will the day come that the people wake up and take back their government from people that have placed themselves above those that they serve?
Honesty, Integrity, Passion, Intelligence, and Faith. I take a logical approach to problem solving that takes into account both sides of any argument, which positions me uniquely to be able to identify points of compromise and get things done. That is how I will attempt to solve our problems, and how I would work to help President Trump accomplish his agenda.
To represent your constituency accurately with consistency. To ensure that all necessary resources are delegated to the appropriate departments to adequately provide for the needs of the constituency. To vote your conscience on every bill. To be actively involved in the creation and passage of legislation. Politics is about solving problems, that is what congressional representatives need to be doing with their time.
Legacy is not important to me, but if I have to pick, I'd like to leave a legacy of accomplishment. One of successfully solving our nations greatest challenges and setting an example of what to do for future house members. I am not interested in how history remembers me, just that I do what I know to be right, always.
I have memories going back to age 3 or 4, but the clearest memory I have of a historic event is 09-11-2001. I was 10 years old, and on track break from school on the day it happened. I watched the live coverage on tv with my parents and saw the second plane hit live. I was a weird kid and so was already watching the news when all the networks began reporting the attacks. That day changed what it meant to me to be an American. The imagery is forever burned into my mind.
I repaired composite Aircraft parts in the Columbus area for $10/hr, working regular 60-72 hour work weeks. I worked there for 10 months before the company started losing business to a Canadian company which is when I quit and moved to NYC find other work. I ended up in the Cleveland area about 6 months later.
It's actually 4 small books in one, but my favorite piece of literature is the trial and death of Socrates, 4 of Plato's early Dialogues. Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, and Phaedo. It is my personal favorite because of the profound impact the works had on my life when I was roughly 16. It set the foundation for my future studies and I credit it with giving me the tools to solve my everyday issues, and the ability to think for myself in a way I had previously been unaware of. It helped to improve my understanding of things like knowledge, wisdom, information, inquiry, and death. It gave me the tools to examine reality through different eyes.
Not really sure. I don't want to be anyone but myself, but Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher wouldn't be bad. Something about a life of monster slaying and world saving seems fulfilling.
My life is almost totally characterized by endless struggle. From birth to present day I have been faced with extraordinary challenges and suffering. I was born to a 16yr old mother, and my father was imprisoned shortly after my birth. I was not a normal kid, and so I faced the full brunt of the education system's ire during the entirety of my grade school education. I am a non-conformist in a very nontraditional sense. I don't see conformity as inherently wrong, but conformity for the sake of conformity I hold to be inherently wrong. Going through life with that perspective has its challenges. It becomes more difficult to prosper in a society driven by blind conformity. This is largely why I became an entrepreneur, and also why I did not have a conventional life during adolescence and early adulthood. It is why I left college. I will not bend with the wind, and I can not be made into a political lackey. Some call me hard headed because of this, I call it consistency.

Other than that, I came into a poor family that had just lost everything, and my teen mother had to start working. We moved a lot when I was very little until she met my step father when I was 6. We moved into a nice neighborhood in the suburbs so I could go to higher quality public schools, but I spent my weekends in North Las Vegas where I got to see a completely different world. I got to experience the cruelty and beauty of both living environments. To this day I am not a wealthy man, and I admit that there are times when my principles interfere with my ability to earn incomes, and that has been a struggle for me, but as always, I endure. I have been living without health insurance for over 3 years and understand just how bad the system is. My pain and suffering over the years have helped me to develop a thick skin, and taught me to overcome the obstacles in my life. I am confident in my abilities, and determined to improve the lives of the American people.
Its democratic nature, as the House is the body meant to directly and proportionately represent the American people. The office carries a 2-year term to give the people the greatest flexibility in choosing their representation. The House is the investigatory body, and holds the sole right to impeach a president. All legislation involving taxation must originate in the House.
No, I do not. Our nations biggest issues are the result of career politicians, loads of "experienced" people screwing up repeatedly only leads me to believe that the "experience" they have acquired only taught them how to enact their nefarious intentions. Experience is something I want in a Senator, I want idealism and integrity from a Representative.
Our greatest challenges over the next decade are a series of deep cultural issues intertwined with attempted Chinese supremacy. The issues we will experience with China, along with our own cultural deficiencies can lead to an unprecedented American decline. However, it is not to late to reverse course. We have allowed huge amounts of wealth to be concentrated in a small number of industries, and then allowed the Chinese government undue influence over those same industries. None more pervasive that big tech. It will all come to a head, and we need leaders in government that stand with America FIRST so that we don't lose tremendous ground to hostile world powers.
Yes. I am aware that leadership chooses committee assignments, but would volunteer to be placed whenever we needed the help. Committees I would be good at serving on are as follows. Select Committee on Small Business, Ethics Committee, Intelligence Committee, Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, Committee on Energy and Commerce, Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Rules Committee, and the Appropriations Committee. I would make myself available to sit on any of those committees at the request of House Republican leadership.
The number of consecutive terms served should be limited. Representatives should only be allowed to serve a small number of consecutive terms, barring them from running for re-election after the number of consecutive terms is reached. I propose that after one term out of office, the term limit resets. Meaning members have to leave the US House for a single term before being allowed to run for the same seat again. These kinds of term limits are easier to pass and ratify, and could solve our career politician problem without changing too much of how our government functions. My position is two consecutive terms, but I am open to arguments for 3 or 4 consecutive terms, but never any more than that. I am against term limits that hold a number of total terms that can be served along with a lifetime ban on future service due to the term limit.
If elected, I would be a freshman in the US House. I would accept a leadership role if I were called upon to serve in that capacity. However, I do not believe congressional freshman should be in party leadership roles unless it is absolutely necessary.
No. I am not a fan of the House. It is a corrupt institution that needs to be reined in.
The stories I hear all follow similar lines. The stories that make me sad are often the tales of someones healthcare debacle, or some way leftist culture has damaged their lives. I also get stories from angry citizens, worried about the state of government and congress abusing its power while neglecting its responsibilities. No one tale stands above the rest. But I think about those people everyday and try to figure out the best ways to help them.
