Tim Curtin (Illinois)
Tim Curtin was a Green Party candidate for comptroller of Illinois in the 2016 special election. He was defeated in the general election on November 8, 2016.
He was also a Green Party candidate for Illinois Comptroller in the 2014 elections.[1] Curtin failed to qualify for the general election ballot after the Green Party's ballot access petitions were ruled invalid by the Illinois State Board of Elections on August 22. The Libertarian Party was the only minor party to survive the signature challenge.[2]
Biography
Born in New London, Connecticut, Curtin moved to Illinois in 1962, then again in 1985. He graduated from Monova Grove High School in Wisconsin, then earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. In the 1970s, Curtin worked as a GED teacher and organized a volunteer food cooperative. In 1977, he began working as a field organizer for the United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers of America Local 925 national staff. After ten years, he was promoted to international representative, retiring in 2012.
Tim lives in Hillside with his wife, Nancy, with whom he has two sons.[3]

2016
Curtin was a Green Party candidate for comptroller of Illinois in 2016.[4] He competed with Libertarian Claire Ball, incumbent Republican Leslie Munger, and Democrat Susana Mendoza in the November 8, 2016, general election.

2014
Curtin ran for election to the office of Illinois Comptroller.[1] Curtin was kicked off the ballot on August 22, when the Green Party was disqualified from the November ballot for insufficient valid petition signatures. The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
