Farrell ran for election to the 7th Judicial District.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 24.1 percent of the vote. He competed against Karen Ostrye.

Education
Farrell receieved his undergraduate degree in management information systems, with a minor in English, from the University of Notre Dame. In 1988, he graduated from the Lewis and Clark Law School with his J.D., and he also holds a master's degree in maritime law from Tulane University.[2]
Career
Farrell has spent his career as a trial attorney in Oregon, Washington, Washington D.C., Ohio, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.[3]
