Campaign themes
2014
Hafvenstein's website highlighted the following campaign themes:
“ | EDUCATION
I believe competition is good for our public educational system. Competition from private, parochial, charter, and home schools forces government run public schools to produce a higher quality product (student) at a more efficient cost. I believe tuition money should follow the student. Therefore, I support tuition tax credits, and government scholarship programs (vouchers). I support requiring 70% of state funding to go directly to classroom instruction (teachers, students, books, instructional materials, etc.) Per-pupil spending should be equally balanced throughout the state. Twin Cities schools should not be getting, on average, $5,000 more per pupil than the out-state school districts of Carlton County. I oppose Common Core and will support legislation to repeal its implimentation. TAXES GOVERNMENT FAMILY |
