I currently serve as the Delaware County Juvenile Magistrate, where I preside over juvenile delinquency and Child in Need of Services (CHINS) cases.
Before joining the judiciary, I spent a decade as an attorney for the Department of Child Services protecting vulnerable children. Over my 30-year legal career, I have worked in both public service and private practice, handling criminal and civil matters including family law, bankruptcy, immigration, contracts, and collections.
Born and raised in Columbia City, Indiana, I moved back to Indiana with my wife, Jennifer, in 2003 to raise our family. I am honored to serve the people of Delaware County and is ready to serve as Judge of Circuit Court 5 from day one.- Experience Matters - Ready Day One Over the past 10 years, I’ve built strong experience in Circuit Court 5 and am already familiar with the kinds of cases it hears. In fact, I've already presided over more than 1,700 cases. With my background and training, including graduation from the Indiana Judicial College, I’ll be ready to lead on day one.
- Fairness and Integrity As Judge, my duty will be to the people who appear in my courtroom. Because I’ve served in a neutral judicial role for the past decade, I have no ties to past clients or conflicts of interest. I will judge every case on its own merits. As the Master Commissioner and as the Juvenile Magistrate, my actions promote public confidence in the independence, integrity and impartiality of the judiciary. That’s how I approach every case—I listen carefully, stay impartial, and apply the law fairly. My proven track record shows my committment to these values.
- Committment to Service I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people. Whether as a Public Defender, Attorney for the Department of Child Services, or in my current role as a Judicial Officer, I’ve always worked to make sure everyone has access to justice.
