  • Our K-12 schools/students are falling further behind due to the increased use of laptops in class. Students currently struggle with reading comprehension, taking notes, thinking critically, problem solving & their attention span has reduced. I see this daily as an educator, & it had gotten worse since the introduction of student laptops. I want to have limited laptop time per week, 2 or 3 times max. Students still need the technology skills of laptops, but they also need the basic skills mentioned above. Limited laptop time would benefit both teachers and students.
  • Access to mental health treatment must be affordable, easily accessible, & available 24/7 for our Veterans, young adults, & everyone. State funded, certified and vetted therapists on call & reachable by text, Zoom, etc anytime, day or night for those in need. We have a crisis in our state, yet little action is ever taken. There are many meetings, studies, task forces, commissions, etc but what we need are actions in place to actually help people.
  • Many average people feel that state government transparency and constituent communication are lacking. People feel like the career politicians (4 or more terms) have forgotten about them, (except for the few months before the election every 4 years) and the people who actually elect the legislators should be the real ones with power, & their voices should be heard. Quarterly Town Halls, district meetings, etc should be held by every state legislators to meet with the people, listen to their concerns, and the actions taken in the statehouse should reflect what the average everyday people are concerned with, not the big money donors, lobbyists, or corporations.
K-12 Schools, Mental health treatment availability, and state government transparency and constituent communication
Many individuals, the normal, average everyday people have supported my campaign, which is how it should be. I am not endorsed by any big corporations or lobbyists group, therefor I am not indebted to them, just to the people of District 101 in Alabama.
