Biography

Tim McOsker was born in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1984 and a law degree from UCLA in 1987. McOsker has experience working as chief executive officer of AltaSea and has served on the governing boards of the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, the San Pedro Historic Waterfront Business Improvement District, Bridge Cities Alliance/Pride on the Port, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers, and Linc Housing Corporation.[1]

Tim McOsker is a lifelong San Pedro community member who has dedicated his career to improving the quality of life for all Angelenos. Tim has a long history of serving the Harbor Area, and all Angelenos, in many critical leadership roles over his three decades of experience in government. Previously, Tim served as Chief of Staff and Chief Deputy City Attorney for former Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn. Before working for the City of Los Angeles, Tim served as City Attorney to various Southern California jurisdictions.

Tim is the son of Patricia and Kevin "Mac" McOsker who met and raised their family in San Pedro. Tim's father served nearly 30 years as an LA City Firefighter and his mother raised six children and was active in school and church groups serving the community. Tim's eldest brothers Mike and Pat followed in their dad's footsteps and joined up as LA City Firefighters, serving faithfully in leadership roles with the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City (UFLAC) union. Tim met his wife Connie in junior high school and their five children were all born and raised in San Pedro.
