Tim Melton
Tim Melton was a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 29th District from 2007 to 2011. In August of 2011, Melton announced his resignation to take a position at StudentsFirst, a group promoting public education reform.[1] He resigned officially on September 9, 2011.[2]
Melton served on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners from 1999 until he was elected State Representative in 2006. He graduated from Oakland Christian High School and then attended and graduated from Oakland University. Melton is married to Patty Melton; they live with two beagles named Senator and Governor.

Melton won re-election to the District 29 seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. He defeated Bret Allen in the general election on November 2, 2010.[3][4]
