Tim Mills is an associate judge of the 18th District Court in Oklahoma. He was elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that expired on January 13, 2019.[1]

General: He defeated William H. Layden, Jr. in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 66.2 percent of the vote. [1] 

Contest of candidacy

Mills contested the candidacy of his opponent, William H. Layden, Jr.. Layden, who is a former special judge, was terminated after he was indicted by the Oklahoma Multicounty Grand Jury on charges of conspiracy surrounding his involvement with a state investigation into the District 18 Drug Court. Mills said that if he couldn't confirm that Layden was removed due to disciplinary proceedings from the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Administrative Office of the Courts, he would readily withdraw his contest. There was a hearing on the contest on April 21st at 9:30 a.m. in the state Capitol, where it was determined that Layden should remain on the ballot.[2][3]

Mills received a B.S. from Weber State University, and a J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law.[4]

Career

Mills was a special district court judge for Pittsburg County, which is located in District 18.[5]
