Tim O’Hare Delivers Results
Since taking office, Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare has delivered on his promise to bring bold change to county government. With a business-minded approach, Tim has cut wasteful spending, provided historic property tax cuts, and restored trust in local county government.
Lower Taxes. Less Spending. Smarter Government.
- Delivered the largest property tax cuts in Tarrant County history, putting real money back into the pockets of working families and seniors.
- Cut $8.1 million from the FY 2024 operating budget, followed by a historic $50 million cut in the FY 2025 operating budget—the largest single-year reduction ever.
- Passed the county’s first-ever maximum Homestead Exemption, protecting homeowners and promoting long-term affordability.
- Adopted tax rates below the No-New-Revenue Rate, holding the line on government growth.
Ending Wasteful Practices
- Ended the county’s outdated COVID-19 Disaster Declaration upon taking office and removed anti-business messaging.
- Rejected wasteful spending on bureaucratic perks, consultants, and unneeded programs.
- Tightened county travel policies to eliminate abuse and restore accountability.
- Eliminated mandatory DEI training for employees.
Protecting Election Integrity
- Championed key election reforms implemented by the Tarrant County Elections Office, including:
Numbered paper ballots
Improved ballot chain-of-custody
Elimination of internet-based results transmission
- These reforms have strengthened transparency, security, and public confidence in our local elections.
Defending Tarrant County Values
- Stood up for parents and families, advocating for a return to common-sense governance that respects faith, freedom, and family values.
- Streamlined county operations, pushing for efficiency, transparency, and a smaller, smarter government that serves the people, not special interests.

Tim is the former Mayor of Farmers Branch and the former Chairman of the Tarrant County GOP, where he oversaw the then-highest turnout in a Republican Primary in county history—a turnout that ensured a complete Republican candidate sweep in the November 2016 election.
In 2013, Tim was appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to the State Board of Dental Examiners to help clean up Medicaid fraud in the dental industry. Sheriff Bill Waybourn appointed him Chairman of the Tarrant County Civil Service Commission. He formerly served on the National Board of Directors for the Christian Legal Society (CLS) and their Center for Religious Freedom Committee, where he started a high school outreach/mentoring program in an inner city high school. He was also the founder of Southlake Families PAC, an organization formed to counter Critical Race Theory in Southlake schools.- As your next County Judge, I will work tirelessly to ensure your county government is fair, transparent, and accountable.
- I have a plan to lower your property tax rate by 20% my first year in office.
- I'm proud to be endorsed by President Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz.
