Campaign themes
2014
Stender's website highlighted the following campaign themes:
“ | Working Families: I grew up with two brothers and was raised by a single mom. Now, I have a young family of my own. The challenges young families face today are so different from when I grew up. I’ll bring a deep understanding of these challenges into office with me.
Opportunity and Equality: When we look at the path ahead for our kids, it is easy to become concerned for their education and job prospects. It seems today workers are being treated as a cost to be minimized, not an asset. I spent my entire career in the private sector and will help protect our ability to provide for our families. Fiscal Accountability: Everyday we see large corporations gaming the system and paying our politicians to look the other way. This shifts more tax burden onto your family. I don’t take money from big business and I’ll fight for tax fairness.[2][3] |
