Biography
Tim Taylor was born in Mexico, Missouri. Taylor served in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 to 1991. Taylor's career experience includes working as a firefighter and captain with the Columbia Fire Department in Columbia, Missouri, as an emergency medical technician, as a Fire Officer I and as a Fire Officer II, as a fire service instructor, and as a non-commissioned officer with the U.S. Air Force Security Police Academy. He has been affiliated with the Thoma-Tuttle Post 52 with the American Legion, with the National Rifle Association as an instructor, with the Wallace Masonic Lodge No. 456, with the Cooper County Historical Society, with the Cooper County Extension Council, with the Missouri Farm Bureau, with the Missouri River Steam Engine Association, with the Boonville Chamber of Commerce, with the Cooper County 4-H as an instructor, and with the Boonville FFA Booster Club.[1]

I am a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force until I was honorably discharged after the first Gulf War. In 1991, I returned to Missouri and soon after coming home, I met the woman who would later become my wife. Dawn and I have been married now for 27 years and she is my best friend. Carter is our 15-year-old son and we are blessed to be a happy and healthy family.
We own Taylor's Bake Shop in Boonville. The business has been open now for 18 years. We reside on a farm south of town where we operate a small cow/calf operation and fatten a few hogs each year. We are avid outdoor enthusiasts and manage our farms for farming and wildlife.
Our love for the shooting sports, particularly archery, can be seen nearly every day. Carter competes in 4H archery and school programs weekly and I am a certified 4H and NASP archery instructor. We also enjoy firearms. I have been an NRA firearms instructor for over 20 years. I am also a 4H muzzleloader and Basic Air Riflery Instructor for the SAR school program.
Until recently, I served as president of the Cooper County Fair Board and was vice-chair of the Cooper County Extension Council.- I believe in civility and respect for all. We may not agree on anything politically but we can agree to treat each other like human beings. We as a people have forgotten how to have a conversation and debate respectfully. I will treat everyone with the respect they deserve.
- I am a passionate defender of our natural rights. Those rights, life being the first, which are granted to us by our creator.
- Government is too big and too intrusive. Every form of bureaucracy, from the top to the bottom, should be trimmed or eliminated where possible.
I will remain a constant and vigilant defender of our rights and liberties.
I will reduce restrictions and enhance our Second Amendment rights.
I will work to eliminate roadblocks in the direct selling of farm products, retail and wholesale.
I will work for the expansion of rural broadband service while finding innovative ways to fund the process.
I will look for innovative ways to promote and fund vocational and technical education.
I will work to trim every form of bureaucracy, from top to bottom.
