Tim Wright is the presiding judge of the Gila County Superior Court in Arizona. He was elected to the court in November 2014 to a term which expires in January 2019.[1] He was appointed presiding judge of the court in June 2015.[2]

Education

Wright graduated from Arizona State University on an academic scholarship. He earned his J.D. from the Arizona State University Law School in 1995. While in law school, he worked as an intern with the Maricopa County Public Defender's Office and a private criminal defense attorney.[3]

Career

After graduating from law school, Wright went to work in criminal prosecution for the Gila County Attorney's Office, Payson branch. After that, he began working for the Peoria City Prosecutor's Office, eventually attaining the rank of chief prosecutor. In 2002, Wright began to serve as deputy town attorney and prosecutor for the Town of Payson. In 2010, he became the town attorney.[3]

Wright ran for election to the Gila County Superior Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 58.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Chuck Walker and Steven Burk.
General: He was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014. [1][4]
