Timmy Teepell is a Republican political advisor and strategist. As of July 2017, he was a partner at the Annapolis, Maryland-based political consulting firm OnMessage. He was Bobby Jindal's campaign manager for Jindal's 2016 presidential campaign; he also served as Jindal's chief of staff and campaign manager for both of Jindal's House campaigns and his gubernatorial campaigns. Teepell served as campaign consultant to the Republican Governors Association and deputy political director for the Republican National Committee.
Career
Timmy Teepell, a Baton Rouge native, was homeschooled by his mother in high school. After meeting Michael Farris—who The Times-Picayune called the "one of the fathers of the home-school movement"—Teepell joined Farris' lobbying group in Washington, D.C. Shortly thereafter, Teepell became executive director of Farris' Madison Project, a conservative PAC based in Virginia founded to support Christian conservatives.[1][2]
After his tenure at the Madison Project, Teepell served as deputy political director for the Republican National Committee until 2004.[1][3]
In 2004, Teepell joined Bobby Jindal's U.S. House campaign as campaign manager.[4] After Jindal's election to the House, Teepell became his chief of staff. In 2006, Teepell was, once again, Jindal's campaign manager for his re-election.[1]
In 2007, Jindal ran for governor of Louisiana and Teepell was his campaign manager.[5] After Jindal's victory, Teepell became his chief of staff.[1]
Tepell was Jindal's gubernatorial re-election campaign manager in 2011 along with Matt M. Parker.[6][7] Shortly after Jindal's victory, Teepell left Jindal's office and became a partner at OnMessage, an Annapolis-based political consulting firm.[8][9] While at OnMessage, Teepell remained Jindal's political strategist.[10]
