I am a Christian, a husband, a father of six, and a grandfather of two. I have lived in southern Illinois my whole life and I am very familiar with the issues that we face here in the 117th district.
I am passionate about families. I believe that legislators should enact laws that defend, protect, and enhance family values, such as school choice, lower taxes, and laws to protect the unborn.
Besides Jesus, my biggest influence has been the prophet Elijah. He was not afraid to speak the truth, even if it cost him his life.
I keep my word. I do not I intentionally lie. I do not compromise my beliefs.
To vote in a way that does not offend one's conscience and most closely matches the will of the people one represents.
The Challenger explosion is the most significant that I can remember. I was 14 at the time.
My first job was working on a furnace cleaner truck. I had it for most of junior high and high school.
The Bible. It's a life manual.
Great Adventure by Steven Curtis Chapman
There are no differences, unfortunately, except the number of occupants. However, that is something I would work toward changing as we should have a legislature that more closely resembles the federal legislature.
No, I believe that can actually be (and has been) a detriment. We don't need career politicians. We need public servants.
Fixing the population decline, fixing the debt, and fixing our ethics.
The governor is the leader of the executive branch. His job is to enforce the will of the people, not to legislate it. Vetoes should be few and far between unless the legislature is corrupt.
Yes, but it should never dilute your own conscience. I will never trade votes or sponsor legislation I would not already support.
I look forward to serving the people of Illinois in many capacities and committees.
