Burns was appointed on June 24, 2011, by Governor Dave Heineman.[1][2][3]

Education
Burns earned his J.D. from Creighton Law School in 1984.[2]
Career
Burns worked with the Douglas County Public Defender’s Office for 26 years.[2]
