Campaign themes

2017

Gaskell's campaign website included the following themes:

  • I look forward to serving the people of Vernon County, as I have been doing over the past 14 years, only in a different capacity. I believe we all want to be challenged professionally and the opportunity to serve you as your next Vernon County Circuit Judge will provide such a challenge.
  • The responsibility of making life-changing decisions must be ingrained in your next Circuit Court Judge. Having had that responsibility upon my shoulders daily, I am confident in the transition from the District Attorney chair to the Judge’s bench.
  • I will show courtesy and respect to those who come before me as your next Vernon County Circuit Judge and people will be treated with dignity and fairness.
  • Moving forward as your next Vernon County Circuit Judge, I will continue collaborative efforts with other county agencies to develop programs (Drug Court/Hybrid Drug Court) and maintain programs (Sobriety Court/Teen Court/Community Collaboration Committee) to better serve our population.[2][3]
