Timothy J. Steadman
Timothy J. Steadman was a resident circuit judge of the 6th Judicial Circuit, serving Macon County, Illinois. A former associate judge of the 6th Circuit, he was appointed to the resident judge position by the Illinois Supreme Court on July 14, 2014. Effective July 25, he filled the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Lisa Holder White to the Fourth District Appellate Court. His term expired on December 5, 2016.[1][2][3]
Education
Steadman received his undergraduate degree from DePaul University in 1978 and his J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in 1981.[1]
Career
Steadman served as an associate judge for the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court from 1995 until he was appointed a resident judge of Macon County in 2014. Prior to becoming a judge, Steadman served as an assistant state's attorney for Macon County. He has also previously served as an assistant state's attorney for Champaign County in 1983 and practiced law with the firm of Burger, Fombelle, Zachry, and Rathburn from 1987 to 1988 in Decatur, Illinois.[1][4]
