Tina Pierce
Tina Pierce is an at-large member of the Columbus City Schools Board of Education in Ohio. She assumed office on January 1, 2020. Her current term ends on December 31, 2027.
Pierce ran for re-election for an at-large seat of the Columbus City Schools Board of Education in Ohio. She won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Biography
Pierce earned a B.A. in social and behavioral science, a B.A. in humanities, an M.A. in political science, and a Ph.D. in political science from the Ohio State University. Pierce's career experience includes working as the CEO and founder of WORTH (Working Through Obstacles Reaching True Heights) and as the executive director of the WORTH Foundation. She is also a senior lecturer at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University.[1]

Opposition
Four of the seven seats on the Columbus City Schools Board of Education were up for at-large general election on November 3, 2015. A primary election was held on May 5, 2015.
Three incumbents—Gary Baker, Shawna Gibbs, and Mary Jo Hudson—won re-election to their seats. Eric Brown won the fourth seat left open by incumbent Bryan Steward. Challengers Jim Hunter, Bernadine Kennedy Kent, Tina Pierce and Ben Tyson were defeated in the general election. Brian Bainbridge and Robert Sharrah were defeated in the primary election.[2][3]

Funding
Pierce reported $22,643.76 in contributions and $22,416.53 in expenditures to the Franklin County Board of Elections, which left her campaign with $227.23 on hand in the election.[4]
